On Saturday, September 19, we celebrate the life and legacy of Louise Bennett-Coverley - Miss Lou, the beloved poet, performer, folklorist and cultural icon whose work transformed the place of Jamaican language in literature and on the stage.

Curated by Poet Laureate of Jamaica, Professor Kwame Dawes, this staging will feature readings by Joylene Alexander-Hall, Shawna-Kae Burns, Desmond Dennis, Alexandra Gregory and Joan Andrea Hutchinson, along with musical composition by Seretse Small.

More than a century after her birth, her voice remains unmistakably present. Join us as we celebrate 107 years of Miss Lou and the extraordinary legacy she gave Jamaica and the world.
